Main Issue
Many users are reporting seeing this error when trying to update from Brave Beta 0.55.14 to 0.56.5. The error:

After the error notification Brave Beta remains at 0.55.14. Several update attempts can sometimes trigger the update to work (I personally had to refresh the about:brave page ~6 times before the update took).

Associated issue
Sometimes (it truly seems random) during this process, Brave will, instead of updating the current Beta Build, install a stand alone build of 0.56.5. This happened to me personally when I realized I hadn’t installed the RC Brave (0.55.18) on my Windows machine. I noticed in my programs that I had four Brave builds when I should have only had 3. Builds listed on my machine were:

Brave — v0.25.2 <—Expected
Brave Beta — v0.55.14 <— Expected (before attempting to update anyway)
Brave — <— v0.56.5 <— What?
Brave Dev — v0.57.1 <— Expected

Steps to Reproduce

Given the nature of the issue the steps to reproduce are uncertain. I will be using the steps I took.

  1. Launch Brave Beta (v0.55.14)
  2. Go to About Brave page
  3. Wait for launcher to attempt to update Beta Build

Actual result:

Error occurs as shown above, Beta is not updated and, sometimes, a new Brave install will appear as version v0.56.5.

Expected result:

Brave Beta should update v0.56.5.

Reproduces how often:

Hard to reproduce at will, but once the error displays this can be reproduced «some number» of times.

Brave version (brave://version info)

Brave Beta 0.55.14 —> Brave Beta 0.56.5

Reproducible on current release:

  • Does it reproduce on brave-browser dev/beta builds? Yes
  • Does it reproduce on browser-laptop? No

I have been trying to update armoury crate , however it keeps telling me that the installation failed. Specifically, it gives me this message:

«ROGLiveService 1.3.10.0 Installation failed. Please try again. (0xA043090B)»

Does anyone know a fix for this?

Don’t fix if it isn’t broke. That’s my strategy with this new ‘modern’ softwares. They are hopeless. Mostly filled with bugs and creates more problem than fixing. And no, I’m not old.

Asus does have problems with their software. I landed on G15 because of all the hardware features, but the software support is something to be desired. It says it all when they have a BIOS update that reads, «Bug fix for the complain»

What windows are you on? I had this problem when I had run some debloat scripts on a custom ISO. You can try reinstalling Armoury Crate.

I upgraded to Windows 11 a month or two ago, but I only ran into this problem recently.

Probably a blessing. I updated Armoury Crate and my CPU temps went up 15c. Struggled to get it to idle below 70-80c until I uninstalled Armoury Crate. Still not sure what went wrong but there seem to be a few others who’ve had similar issues.

Способ 1: Исправление проблемы подключения

Прежде чем применять программные решения, убедитесь, что веб-камера распознается компьютером. Откройте «Диспетчер устройств» из контекстного меню кнопки «Пуск» и найдите в списке устройств вашу камеру. Она может находиться в подразделе «Камеры» или «Устройства обработки изображений».
