The error code Diver in COD can be resolved by fixing your network. In this post. we have given all the solutions you need to fix your network and hence resolve the issue.
If you encounter the Error code Diver in Call of Duty: MW2, follow the solutions mentioned below to resolve the issue:
- Check your Internet connection
- Add the game through the Firewall or switch it off temporarily
- Update your Graphics Driver
- Disable VPN
- Change your DNS server
Let’s start with the first solution.
1] Check your Internet connection
A lot of users complain about the error message DIVER keeps popping continuously in MW2, and this implies glitches or Internet problems. The issue can be easily resolved by restarting the game. However, if the issue persists, check your Internet connection using free Internet speed testers.
If it is slow, change the Internet connection, or restart your router. Sometimes, simple tasks such as restarting the router resolves the issue. You can also contact your ISP if the problem is out of your knowledge.
2] Add the game through the Firewall or switch it off temporarily
Windows has a built-in Firewall that can block outgoing and incoming connections unintentionally, causing the error in question. In such situations, you have two solutions, either add your game through the firewall or temporarily disable the Firewall. If you want to disable the firewall while you play the game, follow the steps prescribed below.
- Click Win + S to open Start, type Windows Security, and hit Enter to open it.
- Go to Firewall & network protection.
- Now, turn off Windows Defender Firewall for both Public and Private networks by clicking on their respective links and turning off the toggle.
Doing so will disable your Firewall, however, we don’t recommend you disable the firewall for a long time as this put your computer at virus risk. Instead of this, go for adding the game through the firewall. And to do so, follow the first 2 steps that we did for disabling Firewall, and then select Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall > Change settings. Click on Allow another app > Browse and go to game files > Add. Tick the boxes next to both Public and Private options, and finally. Launch the game and see if the error message persists or not.
3] Update your Network Driver
As we mentioned earlier, the error code Diver is a result of a bad network connection and it stems from outdated Network Drivers. Therefore, to resolve the issue you can update the Network driver, to do so, simply go to the manufacturer’s website and get the driver or install a free driver update software. You can also install Driver and Optional Update or update Driver from Device Manager. After this, start the game and see if the error message is still popping up on your screen. If it does, see the next solution.
4] Disable VPN
According to a lot of users, disabling third-party VPNs resolves the issue. If you are wondering how VPN causes the issue, the answer is pretty simple, it restricts high bandwidth, a necessary aspect needed to run demanding games such as COD. Here’s how you can do the same:
- Click Win+I to open Settings.
- Click on Network & internet, and select the VPN option.
- Now, select the Remove button to disable VPN.
Now, close Settings, launch the game and look out for the error. If you have a third-party VPN, make sure to disable it as well. Hopefully, this will do the job.
5] Change your DNS server
The issue in question can be triggered if there is any discontinuity between the game server and your DNS server. You can change your DNS server and see the steps mentioned below to see how:
- Press Win+I to open Settings.
- Go to Network & internet, and select Advanced network settings.
- Click on More network adapters, right-click on Network adapters, and select the Properties option.
- Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Use the following DNS servers addresses.
- Now, add the Google Public DNS address (Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8, Alternative DNS server: 8.8.4.4 ) and click the OK button.
Once done, relaunch your game and hopefully, there will be no issues.

А я с Донецка. По этому и спросил, так как правда из-за санкций может такое быть. Но ты хотя бы смог зайти в сеть. Я уже абсолютно все перепробовал

В итоге после махинации с роутером ( подключился телефоном к вай фаю, а телефон шнуром к компу) все заработало, но пинг 150, фризы бешеные, так что вопрос остается открытым

Всем привет! Я из России. Приморский край. Интернет АльянсТелеком. Он же Октопус и сейчас уже выкуплен Ростелекомом. Вот как решилась моя проблема с ошибкой DIVER а так же Статус и прочее прочие вылеты и ошибки. Запуска. Играю через battlenet. Создал Казахский акаунт и закачал wz 2.0. Сходу к делу. Установил пробную версию vpn думаю можно любую.Подключился сначала через Чехию! Как я был рад когда все быстро соеденилось сетевые службы доступны и все остальное прочие. Хотя сидел долгие часы с этой проблемой рыл интернет и yotube. Запустил DMZ кактка прошла дерганая скорее всего проблема в ping ( vpn все же режет инэт) Пол катки откатал и вышел невозможно играть. Перезашел через Германию. Пошло намного лучще но начались вылеты с ошибками через 2 , 3 мин. Вообщем плюнул,думаю хватит с меня на сегодня😂😂😂! Но всетаки решил попробывать еще кое что. Обращу внимание что лаунчер battlenet запускался от имени администратора и с режимом помойму игнорирования отладки полноэкраного режима. Это в совместимость чуть выше запуск от адм. Так вот. Игру закрыл и battlenet тоже также закрыл его в трэи(справа внизу панэли запуска. Запуслил vpn (через Германию). Зпустил battlenet и сделал проверку и восстановление файлов игры. Нажимаем шестеренку около синей кнопки запуска игры. Процедура длилась минуту может полторы. После этого отключил vpn. И запустил игру в обычном режиме. Радости не было предела. Спркойно отыграл 4 ре катки без молейших проблем. Был очнь удивлен что все так гладко проходит. Настройки графики не трогал вообще! Fps скакал от 72 до 110 разброс большой. Пинг 90 160 иногда 180. (Настройки конечно потом поменял,поубирал все тени. Ну в интернэте найдете каждый для себя) fps выро 90-115 уже радует. Мой комп точнее ноут Lenovo Legion 5 17”; ips, razen 5800x,rtx 3070,оперативка 16 gb ,ssd 500 gb. Блок питания 300 ват. Есть у меня еще акаунт steam с такой же проблемой. Но пока его не проверял. Возможно позже дополню. Как вы наверно знаете там при проверке локальных данных 17 файлов не могут быт проверены и будут докачены. Но ничего после проверки не исправляется. Сетевые службы не доступны. Буду рад если мой способ кому нибудь поможет. Так как на решение этой проблемы у меня ушло достаточно долго времени. Почти день. Говорят есть еще одно рещшение отклучение в модеме pvnp(если правельно написал,не помню. Но его ешще не пробывал. Всем удачи и веселой игры! P.S на борту windows 10 home

Код ошибки Diver — это крайне распространенная ошибка среди игроков Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 и Warzone 2.0. Как показывает практика, избавиться от ошибки помогают два метода:
- изменить адреса DNS-сервера в настройках сетевого подключения;
- запуск игры через VPN.
Чтобы изменить DNS для своего сетевого подключения, нужно сделать следующее:
- откройте классическую панель управления (WIN+R→control);
- перейдите в раздел «Центр управления сетями и общим доступом»;
- кликните на пункт «Изменение параметров адаптера»;
- дважды кликните на название своего сетевого подключения;
- нажмите «Свойства» и дважды кликните на компонент «IP версии 4 (TCP/IPv4)»;
- активируйте опцию «Использовать следующие адреса DNS-серверов»;
- выставьте следующие адреса (или любые другие публичные DNS):
- 4.2.2.1
- 4.2.2.2
- сохраните изменения.
Выбор VPN зависит сугубо от предпочтений самого пользователя. Платить или нет — тоже личный выбор. В сети можно найти неплохие бесплатные VPN, однако они дают крайне ограниченный объем трафика. Заручившись помощью проверенного VPN, код ошибки Diver гарантировано исчезнет из Modern Warfare 2 и Warzone 2.0.

Fixing the error code DIVER is quite simple as you can usually get away with using a different internet connection to establish a successful link between your computer and the game’s servers, among other things. We have compiled a list of various solutions you can implement to get rid of the issue, so follow through.
1. Change Network Connection
The first thing you should do when starting to troubleshoot the error message is to use a different internet connection. The error code appears due to a minor inconsistency that prevents your connection from being established. This can, sometimes, be due to your internet connection, in which case you can resolve the issue by simply using a different network connection.
Therefore, we recommend connecting to your mobile data if you have a WiFi card to launch the game. Doing so should allow your computer to establish a connection successfully with Modern Warfare 2’s data centers which will resolve the issue.
If you do not have a WiFi adapter, you can try using a VPN connection on your system to see if that works out. In some scenarios, the problem can be caused by your IP address or the connection route. In such a scenario, using a VPN should help resolve the issue.
Alternatively, you can also try restarting your router if you do not wish to use a third-party VPN on your computer.
If the problem persists after changing your network connection, move to the following method below.
2. Turn off Windows Firewall Temporarily
Windows Defender Firewall is a vital component of the Windows operating system as it manages all incoming and outgoing connections from your computer. In some scenarios, the Windows Firewall can block specific connections on your computer, which can lead to various issues. This might prevent Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from establishing a link which is why you encounter the error code DIVER.
Therefore, you can resolve the issue by turning Windows Defender Firewall off. If the problem goes away after disabling the Windows Firewall, you can whitelist the game in your firewall settings so that its requests are allowed. Follow the instructions down below to disable Windows Defender Firewall:
- First, open the Start Menu and search for the Control Panel. Open it up.
Opening Control Panel - On the Control Panel window, go to System and Security.
Navigating to System and Security - There, click on the Windows Defender Firewall option.
Navigating to Windows Firewall Settings - Afterward, click on the Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off option on the left-hand side.
Navigating to Turn off Windows Firewall - Select the Turn off Windows Defender Firewall option for both Private and Public network settings.
Disabling Windows Firewall - Finally, click OK. Restart the game to see if the issue disappears.
If the problem goes away after disabling the Windows Defender Firewall, you can whitelist the game to prevent the Windows Firewall from blocking its requests. Follow the instructions below to do this:
- On the Windows Defender Firewall screen, click on the Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall option on the left-hand side.
Navigating to Firewall Whitelisted Apps - There, click on the Allow another app button.
Allowing Another App Through Firewall - On the follow-up window, click the Browse button and navigate to the installation directory of Modern Warfare 2.
- Select the cod_hq.exe file and click OK.
- Afterward, click the Network types button and tick both the Private and Public checkboxes.
Opening Network Types - Finally, click the Add button to add the game to the whitelist. Do the same procedure for the other executable files in the installation directory.
- Once you do that, click OK and double-check if the issue is still gone.
3. Disable Third-Party VPN
If you are using a VPN client on your computer, that can also cause the error code. This can happen when the VPN client inhibits your internet connection which can prevent the game from establishing a connection successfully.
If this applies to you, you can fix the DIVER error by disabling your third-party VPN. If you have added a VPN connection to your Windows internet settings, you will need to remove the VPN connection. Follow the instructions below to do this:
- Start by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
- On the Settings window, navigate to Network & Internet.

- Finally, click the Remove button that appears.
Removing VPN - Once you do that, restart the game and see if the error still occurs.
4. Change DNS Server
Domain Name Server (DNS) is a critical component of the internet as all your requests go through it. In some scenarios, the issue can be related to the DNS you are using; thus, changing your DNS can usually fix the problem.
If you are unaware, DNS stores the addresses of the domains you visit. The request is sent to a Domain Name Server, which is then resolved to the actual address of the domain name. Thus, in some scenarios, the request may not reach Modern Warfare 2’s servers due to your network’s DNS, in which case you can fix the error code by changing your DNS. Follow the instructions below to do this:
- First, open the Settings app by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard.
- On the Settings app, navigate to Network & Internet.
Navigating to Network and Internet Settings - There, click on the Advanced network settings option at the bottom.
Navigating to Advanced Network Settings - Once you are there, click on More network adapter options.
Navigating to Network Adapter Options - On the new window, right-click on your network adapter and choose Properties from the drop-down menu.
- Afterward, double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Navigating to IPv4 Properties - Select the Use the following DNS servers addresses option and provide either Google or Cloudflare’s DNS addresses found below.
Google: 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 1.0.0.1
Changing DNS - With that done, click OK and restart your game to see if the error code still appears.
5. Update Graphics Drivers
Finally, if none of the methods above has resolved the problem for you, it is possible the issue may be occurring due to outdated graphics drivers installed on your computer.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a new game; to play it, you will need the latest drivers available for your graphics card. We have found that using an older version of the graphics drivers than the ones recommended by Activision can result in the mentioned issue.
If this case applies to you, you can resolve the problem by simply updating your graphics drivers. To do this, you will have to uninstall your graphics drivers using a utility called Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and then download the latest drivers available for your graphics card from your manufacturer’s website. Follow the instructions below to do this:
- First, download the latest version of Display Driver Uninstaller from the official website here.
- Open the downloaded file and extract it to your desired location.
- Navigate to the folder and open the Display Driver Uninstaller.exe file.
- Once DDU starts, you will be shown the General Options window. Click Close to continue.
DDU General Options - Select GPU from the Select device type drop-down menu on the DDU window.
Selecting Device Type - Follow this up by selecting your card’s manufacturer from the Select device drop-down menu.
Selecting Graphics Card’s Manufacturer - Finally, click the Clean and restart option to uninstall your graphics drivers.
Uninstalling Graphics Drivers - With that done, head to your manufacturer’s website and download the latest drivers available for your graphics card.
- Install the new graphics drivers and then launch the game to see if the error code still occurs.
