Мастер Ван Фу (Wang Fu; дубляж Мастер Фу) — целитель и старый мастер, который подбросил Маринетт и Адриану их Камни Чудес, чтобы остановить Бражника.

Ван Фу — добрый, заботливый и щедрый. Он хранит Камни и отдаёт их людям, которые ставят жизнь других превыше своей. Фу старается не лезть в чужие тайны. Так, в эпизоде «Принцесса Ароматов» он делает вид, что поверил Маринетт в том, что Тикки — «кошка».

Способности[]

Как целитель, он может лечить как людей, так и квами. Один из методов лечения — бить в гонг над пациентом — техника даосских целителей. Именно так он вылечил Тикки в эпизоде «Принцесса Ароматов».

Как Нефритовая Черепаха, он обладает повышенной физической силой, ловкостью и, как и Карапас, может создавать защитное поле. Но в силу возраста владельца оно не такое прочное. Master Wang Fu (Chinese:王富 Wáng Fù) or Master Fu Wang (in western order) is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Su-Han) of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He is a former healer and previously the Great Guardian of the Miraculouses. He gave Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste their Miraculouses to stop Hawk Moth and his villains’ evil-doings.

When Wayzz inhabited the Turtle Miraculous, he transformed into Jade Turtle, a turtle-themed superhero.

In «Feast», it is revealed that Fu was a one-time Peacock Miraculous holder.

In «Heart Hunter» during the battle with Hawk Moth, Fu transformed into Jade Turtle.

In «Miracle Queen», Master Fu lost all of his memories after giving ownership of the Chinese Miracle Box to Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

In «Furious Fu» after Su-Han stole his cane and mocked him, Wang was akumatized by Shadow Moth into Furious Fu, a martial arts sensei-themed supervillain with a magic painting brush. He also received a Magical Charm from Ladybug that prevented him from being reakumatized.

Physical appearance[]

Wang Fu is a short Chinese man with chestnut brown eyes. His hair is medium gray, and he has a mustache, eyebrows, and goatee.

Civilian attire[]

He wears a red Hawaiian shirt with a white hibiscus flower pattern, tan capri pants, dark brown shoes, and the Turtle Miraculous on his right wrist.

As Jade Turtle[]

Jade Turtle wore green armor: a dark green chest plate with the front being light green and light green pauldrons and tassets with dark green edges; dark brown loose pants, elbow pads, and a collar; and dark green armor boots with light green toe-caps and dark brown soles. His mask was dark green on the upper half and light green on the lower half. His shield was a conical shape, and when not in use, he used it as a hat.

Peacock Miraculous holder[]

He was still a young boy with a shaved head when he transformed with the Peacock Miraculous. He possessed eyes with pink irises and pink-purple sclerae, with black liner around his eyes, resembling glasses and his skin was a pale blue. He had a peacock-feather-like cocktail hat, which was blue and tear-shaped with a light pink mark in the center and a light blue, translucent veil over his right eye. He wore a blue coat with a fuzzy black collar and sleeves that ended in a point on the back of his hand with the Peacock Miraculous in the center. The end of the coat had rounded points with dark blue, light-pink-centered spots, resembling a peacock’s tail feathers. The rounded points were edged with translucent light blue material. Underneath his coat, he also had indigo pants on his legs, and a pair of high boots. He held a blue hand fan, which is similar in design to the end of his coat.

As Furious Fu[]

Furious Fu was much taller and had muscular arms as well as golden bands with black edges on each wrist. He had a black mask, light golden yellow sclerae, brilliant crimson eyes, long light gray hair (which is tied in a bun and ponytail), eyebrows, a mustache and a beard, a black suit, and a light brilliant amaranth jacket, both with golden accents (with the ones on the jacket having the form of flowers), white socks and golden soled reddish brownish-black dress shoes. He also had a large Chinese character on the back of his suit and carried a paintbrush (his akumatized object) on his ear and, later, a cane that possessed a compass that could detect the Miracle Box.

Personality[]

In his younger years, Fu was a boy who just wanted a normal life with his family and to play with children his age. However, after being chosen by the guardians, a task of great honor, he couldn’t leave the Order and was forced to do difficult tasks he didn’t like. All this changed after his anger manifested in a sentimonster that caused the disappearance of the Guardians’ temple and many miracle boxes. This led him to feel guilty about the consequences of his mistake, and he decided to take on the responsibility his caretakers left behind.

Wang is also shown to be caring and considerate towards others, as this may also be due to his mistake, such as when Hawk Moth first appeared. At first, he was hesitant about the use of any more Miraculouses, but knowing this was his chance to set things right, Wang wasn’t about to let what happened to the Guardians happen to the people of Paris. And it may be due to the severity of the emergency or not being one for tradition, Master Fu broke the rule that only adults could use the Miraculouses meaning like Marinette he trusted his instincts and understood like his former master that times were changing.

Master Fu is a wise, gentle, and respectful man who was dedicated to keeping Miraculouses out of the wrong hands to maintain balance. He recognized good heroes as kind, helpful individuals who put others before themselves. Because of his mistake, he was very careful about handing out other Miraculouses to the right people. Fu didn’t consider himself old and believed that he was young compared to his constant companions (who were thousands of years old), but he was still aware of when he couldn’t fix a major issue without help, meaning he was accepting of the help of others. He can get angry with those who go behind his back or don’t ask for his permission on occasion, but he is also forgiving towards those who admit their mistake.

He is shown to be a good judge of character, as seen in «Stoneheart» when he claimed that Marinette and Adrien were made for each other, which was proven in «Stormy Weather», «Frozer» and «Desperada». Another example is when he was right about his reservations about Chloe’s potential as a hero in «Malediktator». As well as Hawk Moth’s obsession and relentless greed.

While he was serious when it came to his work as a healer and a guardian, Fu could be lighthearted and liked jokes, often slightly teasing Marinette. He knew when to have fun and let his chosen ones do the same, especially since they were young. According to Marinette, Fu had a bit of a forgetful memory, like when he lost his keys, most likely due to his old age.

Like Ladybug, Fu is known to be cautious and careful, using a false name even before Hawk Moth knew his true name or appearance. He preferred to keep himself and his purpose a secret from most people, aware that villains may come after him or the Miraculouses in the box if they found out about him. Usually, he didn’t allow people to whom he has given a Miraculous to meet him unless there was a special reason.

After the incident in «Feast», he moved from place to place in order to keep himself and the Miracle Box safe, a method which worked until Marinette got distracted in «Heart Hunter».

When his past came back to haunt him when the dormant sentimonster he had created when he was a child returned, Fu’s guilt overtook him and caused him to take Marinette’s and Adrien’s Miraculouses. His guilt was so great that he ignored the reason why he chose them to be Ladybug and Cat Noir, but after seeing them fighting Feast without their powers, he was able to overcome his guilt and return their Miraculouses. Before losing his memories in «Miracle Queen», he planned to reunite with his fellow guardians and apologize for everything.

As Furious Fu, he was determined to make Su-Han apologize for disturbing him and Marianne and stealing his cane.

Abilities[]

As a civilian[]

As a healer, Master Fu can improve the health and read the energies of humans and kwamis. One of his methods includes hitting a gong, as seen when he helped Tikki heal from her sickness.

Fu is shown to be tactful and clever. He had a rule that kwamis shouldn’t leave their owners in order to be prepared for an attack. When he was keeping a low profile, he used a cooler to keep the Miracle Box close by and safely hidden. More importantly, he was aware that he won’t be around forever, so he wanted to have Marinette prepared to be the next guardian of the Miracle Box.

Fu is very knowledgeable and a very capable teacher. He explained with strong clarity and insight how kwamis are abstract creatures and the events which lead to the creation of the Miraculouses to Marinette Dupain-Cheng in Miraculous Adventures. During their time together, he taught her and Adrien all the kwamis’ names, their transformations phrases, superpowers, and the Miraculouses’ fusions. Fu is fluent in Chinese, which he used to talk with Adrien during their «session».

Fu was trained by the Order of the Guardians, so while his training isn’t finished, he can decipher some of the code in the Miraculous spellbook. His knowledge extends to the spells, such as the incantation needed for the wish-granting power of the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses and the recipes for the potions which grant more powers to the holders. However, he acknowledges that some of his understanding is limited. As a child, Su-Han described him as weakling compared to other Guardians, as he was unable to do 1000 push-ups on his fingers and unable to last without food for a day.

Despite his age, Fu is very strong, carrying a large container of bugs with a single hand without much struggle.

As Jade Turtle[]

As seen in «Ladybug & Cat Noir», Wang Fu was unable to transform due to his old age giving him back pain, but when faced by Hawk Moth in «Heart Hunter», he managed to transform.

As Jade Turtle, he had much more enhanced skills, such as speed, agility, and strength, and he was almost invulnerable to physical damage. Even his bad back seemed to disappear after he transforms.

His special power, Shell-ter, was executed through his shield and allowed him to create a giant green shell-like spherical barrier/force field to protect himself. Because of his experience and adulthood, Jade Turtle could hold on to his barrier for a very long time and withstand a lot of damage, as it was able to block Hawk Moth’s attacks and also his sentimonster’s, despite having a limit for the damages it could take.

As a Peacock Miraculous holder[]

As a Peacock Miraculous holder, he had much more enhanced skills, such as speed, agility, and strength. Fu possessed the power of Amokization, being able to create a sentimonster. However, his youth and circumstance limited his ability to destroy it by recalling its amok after he lost his hold of the amok itself.

As Furious Fu[]

As Furious Fu, he got enhanced speed, agility, and strength. Not only that, but his kung fu skills became much stronger, as he could even hold his own against Ladybug, Cat Noir, and even Su-Han, a celestial guardian with great kung fu skills himself.

• «Phantom Palms of the Awakened» was an ability that could cause a strong vibration in the air that could push anyone he wanted to a small distance.
  • «The wise man moves mountains without touching them» — allowed him to push people into an even further distance.

With his magic brush, Furious Fu could write down a word on a paper in Chinese that allowed him to bring the word to life in a way that befitted what he was intending to use the word for. The uses of this power included:

• «Find» (发现) — allowed him to locate a person by sending the paper after them.
• «Thunderbolt» (雷电) — conjured a storm that generated powerful, red lightning.
• «Teleportation» (瞬间移动) — allowed him to teleport anywhere by placing the paper on his forehead.
• «Statue» (雕像) — immobilized an opponent by placing the paper on their forehead.
• «Vision» (视力) — allowed him to predict an opponent’s plan by placing the paper above his eyes.

Relationships[]

Wayzz[]

Master Fu and Wayzz work well together, both taking the situation of a Miraculous falling into evil hands very seriously and joking about his chosen as well. Although Fu disagrees with Wayzz about being too old to defeat villains, he agrees with him that he can’t stop Hawk Moth alone. Despite getting along with Wayzz, Fu can get angry at him if he does something without his permission, but he quickly forgives him and says that he should ask next time.

During «Feast» after his old sentimonster is awoken, Fu tells Wayzz to take Marinette’s and Adrien’s Miraculouses and flee Paris. While trying to escape, Fu is informed by Wayzz that his disciples are fighting back despite being powerless and is pushed to do the right thing. Still remorseful, he put his kwami in his Miraculous until he realized his mistake, deciding to face his mistake and return the Miraculouses to his chosen ones. When cornered, Fu thanks Wayzz for being his kwami all these years. However, he couldn’t say goodbye to him when he lost his memories in «Miracle Queen.

In «Furious Fu», he meets Wayzz again, but with his memory erased, he confuses his former friend as a toy.

Marianne Lenoir[]

Fu met Marianne many years ago. As time went on, they became friends, and soon, it turned into love. Feeling that he could trust her, he probably told Marianne of his secret about being the Guardian of the Miraculous and protecting the Miracle Box. During World War II when the Nazis attacked Paris looking for the box and them, Fu tried to flee with her to England but accepted Marianne’s choice to stay and fight. He gave her a brooch before leaving, saying he’d come back for her.

During «Backwarder», Fu realizes he let too much time pass and how much he has isolated himself from people, writing Marianne a love letter, which he put in Marinette’s hands to deliver. At the end of the episode, the two finally reunite, and he apologizes to her for not coming back sooner. Through Marianne, Fu figured out that Hawk Moth was one step closer to finding him, and with the mastermind around, they couldn’t be together, fearing that Hawk Moth would use her to get to him. He held on to hope that Ladybug and Cat Noir would defeat him and that then they’d be together.

Fu has a photo of Marianne in her old age. When they met again after he lost his memories, he felt that «his heart already knew her», an action which she said he should trust. The two went away from Paris together that day.^[12]

In «Furious Fu», they made their way to London and lived their life together as a happily married couple. Upon their visit back to Paris, he enjoys painting and using her as a subject for his work. Thanks to Ladybug’s and Cat Noir’s efforts, with Marianne’s help, he was deakumatized. He was also glad to hear from Marinette that Marianne was the true hero.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng[]

Master Fu chooses Marinette to wield the Ladybug Miraculous after she unknowingly passes his test by courageously rescuing him from oncoming traffic. When it comes to both her and Adrien, he believes that they are made for each other. Marinette comes to his shop so he can heal Tikki in «Princess Fragrance», where he reminds her to be patient and finds amusement in her unawareness that he knows about kwamis and Miraculouses, asking her what kind of cat Tikki is.

Fu officially reveals himself to Marinette in «Volpina» when she and Tikki visit him to give him the Miraculous Spellbook. He is understanding with her when she doubts telling him the truth about who she got the book from in «The Collector» but gently notes to her that they need to trust each other in order to defeat Hawk Moth. Since then, Fu is a patient and sage teacher to Marinette, explaining the nature of the kwamis and the consequences of their powers to her. His faith in her actions as a superheroine is shown for the first time when he entrusts her to choose a one-time Miraculous holder in «Sapotis» as long as it is a trustworthy person and she returns the Miraculous afterward. He even trusts Marinette to a point where he allows her to use his Miraculous (and thus Wayzz) with another hero. He knows that Marinette is sensible, knowing right away she wouldn’t have given the Bee Miraculous to Chloé, but he had faith that Marinette would fix her mistake. In «Malediktator», he is still unsure if Chloé is a good choice and states that Marinette is taking a big risk. When Marinette says how being Ladybug had improved her and Chloé could improve as Queen Bee, he remains supportive of Marinette’s choice. He praises Marinette for doing a good job against Hawk Moth’s army in «Heroes’ Day».

In «Backwarder», Master Fu reveals that he intends for the Miracle Box to go to Marinette when he dies and that she will become the next Guardian of the Miraculous.

During «Kwamibuster», he sees Marinette pull off her greatest feat. After Tikki is captured, he allows her to use a Miraculous for herself. When Wang sees her use the Mouse Miraculous and takes the rest, he warns her about the dangers of having too much power, showing concern for her when it results in Marinette getting a brief dizzy spell. Despite that, he sees her return all the Miraculouses and keeps her identity safe. Witnessing his young disciple’s physical and mental prowess, he and Wayzz agreed that Marinette was special.

During «Feast», he tells Marinette of his past mistake of creating a sentimonster when he was young that he couldn’t control. When his old creation resurfaces, he refuses to let Marinette suffer and takes her Miraculous, wanting to protect her. After seeing her stand up to his creation without her power, he sees once again why he chose her. When his sentimonster is gone and the Order is returned, he is eternally grateful towards her and congratulates Marinette on becoming a full-fledged Ladybug. Before moving out, he tells her he will always be there for her. Fu’s faith in her continued even after her mistake which led him to be discovered, encouraging her to continue fighting and eventually sacrificing his memories to protect her and Cat Noir during the events of «Miracle Queen». He accepts her macarons when he was in a train station to go away from Paris and thanks her for accompanying him there, saying he would never forget her. Knowing these events could happen, he had previously written a letter to her which he kept in a locker for her to find.

During their reunion in «Furious Fu», despite not remembering Marinette, Fu still thanks her for bringing him to his love and gives her one of his abstract paintings as he describes Marinette that way. When it comes to Ladybug, as Furious Fu, he became annoyed that the heroine tried to stop him from achieving his goal, but upon being deakumatized, he gladly accepted the heroine’s keychain that would protect him from future akumatizations. Grateful to her, he says he’ll treasure it always as a reminder of her. Meeting Marinette at the train station once more before leaving, he tells her all about what happened, finding Paris’s superheroes as amazing, selfless and brave individuals ready to protect and help others for the greater good. Unknown to him, even with his memory erased, Fu described Marinette the same way during the young heroine’s first adventure.

In «Evolution», as a result of time travel Master Fu meets his future chosen ones on the night he left for England. At first he was suspicious about them but after Ladybug briefly explains the situation he allowed her to use a past version of chosen Miraculous and return it to him so time isn’t effected and with Bunnyx’s help the Dog Miraculous was returned.

Adrien Agreste[]

Master Fu chooses Adrien to wield the Cat Miraculous after he unknowingly passes his test by helping him up when he pretended to have fallen and was unable to get up himself. He believes that he and Marinette are made for each other. He agrees with Marinette when she points out that both she and Cat Noir have been careful to hide their secret identities and use their Miraculouses wisely.

After deciphering the recipe that allows him to unlock new powers for the Miraculous holders and under Ladybug’s advice, Fu decides that Adrien can finally be informed of the information he did not previously have. He poses as a substitute Chinese tutor so he can teach Adrien. In «Malediktator», Fu shows great concern for Cat Noir when Marinette tells him about his condition. In «Party Crasher», he attends the party at Adrien’s house and later advises him as Cat Noir not to engage the titular villain without help, being frustrated when he doesn’t listen.

During «Feast» when his old creation resurfaces, Fu refuses to let Adrien suffer and takes his Miraculous, wanting to protect him. After seeing Adrien stand up to his creation without his powers, he sees once again why he chose him. After his sentimonster is gone and the Order is returned, he is eternally grateful towards him and, like Marinette, he’ll always be there for him. Lê Chiến Kim[]

In «Party Crasher», Fu met Kim at the boys-only party that Kim helped Nino plan for Adrien. When Kim catches Fu when he lost his balance on top of the cooler he was standing on, he sees that Kim has the potential to become a Miraculous holder. When Ladybug and her team are captured by Party Crasher, Fu decides to trust what he saw in Kim earlier, secretly giving him the Monkey Miraculous, as he knew that its power and the right holder would be able to save the other young Miraculous holders and restore order.

After Fu witnesses Kim and Xuppu «bonding» by making silly faces at each other, he begins to wonder if he had made the right choice or not. However, after secretly watching him defeat Party Crasher and work well with the other heroes, Fu decides that Kim may have been the right choice as he returns the Monkey Miraculous.

Alya Césaire[]

In «Miraculous Secrets», Wang and Alya had met long before she became a superhero coming to his shop to receive various Chinese treatments from him and at first almost chose Alya over Marinette… to be Ladybug! Fu is aware that Marinette chose her to wield the Fox Miraculous, seeing her as the «right choice». Since «Syren», he continues to allow Alya to be Rena Rouge.

He also knew that Alya was an excellent journalist, aware she would find the truth about the Miraculous sooner or later in «Feast».

Nino Lahiffe[]

Despite not meeting Nino in person, Fu is aware that Marinette chose him to wield the Turtle Miraculous in his place. In «Party Crasher», he secretly gives Nino the Turtle Miraculous in order for him to help Cat Noir.

Chloé Bourgeois[]

Despite not meeting Chloé in person, Fu is aware of her selfish and immature personality, and he is certain at first that Marinette didn’t choose her to wield the Bee Miraculous. In «Malediktator», he was still unsure if Chloé was a good choice, stating that Marinette took a big risk by trusting her. Since Marinette believes that being a superhero may give Chloé the opportunity to become a better person, Wang agreed with that reasoning, allowing her to continue acting as Queen Bee from that point on. However, even after agreeing to re-entrust the Bee Miraculous to Chloé in «Heroes’ Day», he was still doubtful about Chloé as a good ally, due to both the public knowledge of her civilian identity, and for her personality.

As of «The Battle of the Miraculous», he was right to be doubtful about her; by her siding with Hawk Moth, Wang witnessed her selfish desires for power and revenge as well as using the duo’s other allies, putting them in serious danger.

Hawk Moth[]

From the start, Master Fu is aware of the evil use of the Butterfly Miraculous and Hawk Moth’s existence. So he has been determined to stop him and retrieve Nooroo and the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses. He expects that Hawk Moth wants to use the wish-making power of the combined Ladybug Miraculous and Cat Miraculous, and he doesn’t want Hawk Moth to find out about him or the Miracle Box, making him cautious about taking out other Miraculouses besides the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses.

In «Catalyst», Master Fu feared that there would be a day that Hawk Moth would discover the unbound abilities of his powers. In «Backwarder», he learns from Marianne Lenoir that Hawk Moth was one step closer to knowing his identity. In «Kwamibuster», he is also aware of his selfishness and greedy nature fearing that if Hawk Moth had captured the kwamis he would keep the powers for himself.

While facing his sentimonster in «Feast», Fu reveals his identity to Hawk Moth in trying to save his disciples. Because of that, he keeps a low profile but will not rest until Hawk Moth is defeated.

When he is found in the events «The Battle of the Miraculous», despite his old age, Fu fights against Hawk Moth and taunts him about how he talks too much for someone who hasn’t achieved much so far. It’s implied that like Ladybug and Cat Noir, he had figured out that Hawk Moth made a terrible mistake and was desperate to fix it. Master Fu believed that, unlike him, Hawk Moth hadn’t learned from his mistake, let alone saw a better way to fix everything. Though cornered by him, Mayura, and their sentimonster, he sacrifices his memories to save his chosens’ identities from him. However, their encounter is a draw, since Mayura steals his tablet filled with deciphered pages of the spellbook but unknown to Hawk Moth, Wang gave a copy to his successor prior to this.

Su-Han[]

Su-Han and Fu initially had a teacher-student relationship. The former admitted that he saw the potential in the latter, but Su-Han’s opinion of Fu went soured when Fu was unable to complete the tasks the Order set for him. Fu lost his memories of his relationship with Su-Han except on a subconscious level.

However, in «Furious Fu» after losing his memories, Fu unknowingly meets again his former master, who still had a low opinion of him and pushed Marianne aside to steal Fu’s tracking cane to retrieve the Miracle Box from Ladybug, which outraged Fu and led to his akumatization, in which he was determined to get his cane back and also to force Su-Han to apologize to him, and eventually fought and defeated his former teacher, freezing him in place. However after being de-akumatized, Su-Han returned his cane to Fu and apologized to him, claiming he mistook him for someone who was gone, and Fu accepted his apology and the two bowed in respect.

• Fu is not actually a Master, as he did not complete his training.
• In an old synopsis, Wang is described as the Guardian of the Orb, but Thomas Astruc denounced it as an older concept of him.^[13]

• At a licensing show in Korea, the Ladybug and Cat Noir journals were available. An attendee took a picture of a mysterious figure watching Marinette and Adrien in the park from a journal. When asked who the figure was, Wilfried Pain at he is Master Fu.^[14]
• Wang Fu is 186 years old, making him the oldest known human character in the series.
  • His longevity isn’t linked to his Miraculous but, rather, to his lifestyle.^[15]
• Wang Fu is the only known Miraculous holder to not have been seen transformed in both Season 1 and Season 2.
  • In «Ladybug & Cat Noir (Origins — Part 1)» and «Feast», Fu attempts to transform, but his back gives out before he succeeds.
• Currently, he is the only human to know the secret identities of both Ladybug and Cat Noir because he gave them their Miraculouses.

«Леди Баг и Супер Кот» 6 серия 4 сезона. Маринетт узнала, что хранитель талисманов изменился. На этот раз Хранителем стала маленькая девочка, получившая свой талисман созидания. Хранитель просит у Леди Баг встречи с Котом Нуаром. При встрече новый мастер требует вернуть ему все талисманы. Супергерои не хотят лишаться камней и вступают в бой с Хранителем.

Он очень силен и напарникам не удается его победить. При драке герои сломали посох Хранителя, который показал местонахождение всех талисманов. Хранитель знает, что у Мастера Фу есть второй посох, необходимый для отслеживания магических камней. Хранитель хочет отобрать трость. Мастер злится, и Бражник призывает к нему акуму. Став злодеем, Мастер теперь преследует Хранителя и хочет отобрать у него все магические камни. Тем временем, супергерои хотят найти остальные камни. Узнав о преображении Мастера Фу, Леди Баг и Супер Кот, применяют все силы, чтобы освободить его от акумы.
